Art & Words 2017

I’m thrilled to announce that all the Art & Words participants for 2017 have been chosen! We received a huge number of submissions, most of them great, most of them (surprisingly) poetry (which is fine with me!). In the end, guest Editor Isabel Crespo and I whittled it down to 12, with a significant focus on local writers.

The Art & Words Show will be on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Art on the Boulevard in Fort Worth, Texas. I hope to see you there.

First review for Strange Monsters!

Strange Monsters has its first review, via Fantasy Literature:

“Over melodies both slow and easy, and chaotic and exciting, a cast of actors reads five short stories and five poems by Stufflebeam. The resulting listening experience is fulfilling, funny, and ultimately haunting.”

A whole anthology about monsters…from Knopf Doubleday’s Everyman’s Library imprint!

Anyone who knows me knows I love Halloween, so I’m psyched that the monster poetry anthology Monster Verse: Poems Human and Inhuman is out now, just in time!, from Everyman’s Library. It includes my poem “The Werewolf.” The volume includes monster poetry from writers such as Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, Elizabeth Bishop, Edgar Allen Poe (what would a monster poem anthology be without him?), Annie Finch, Jorge Luis Borges. Actually, the whole Table of Contents looks amazing.

Check it out here: http://knopfdoubleday.com/book/233726/monster-verse/!

Free poem + Marketing for Creatives

My Kickstarter to raise funds for the music-words album Strange Monsters is going strong. We got staff pick! At 8 days to go, we only need $1,400 more. To celebrate/encourage donations, I’ve posted two updates that might be of interest.

Marketing for Creatives

Free poem: Infidelity

If you can spare even $1, please consider throwing it my way (well, virtually throw it, please).
